Jewelry Around the Globe: First Flight

Tribal Jewelry is one of those trends that every year is somehow featured as a new trend, thereby making it a non-trend–a classic–a mainstay.  The way we wear it, and which outfits it accessorizes is more of a trending topic.  I’ve seen it a lot lately with summer boho looks.  That can look themey, and too Coachella-festival-girl.  I like mixing it with modern, simple lines for something a bit more unexpected.

Bajalia Wrapped Cord Necklace – This choker necklace with tiered, gold coin dangle drops looks amazing as the standout piece on a linen sheath dress.  It’s also cool with jeans and a white T.  It’s light and carefree for summer.

Bajalia Saachi Necklace Set – These two long necklaces with dangling horns and beads, are a quiet nod to tribal wear with their turquoise resin inlay.  Great to enliven an off the shoulder* white top or play down the femininity in a crocheted top.

Bone-Like Conical Earrings – Great in the summer when you want to keep it light. These shoulder dusters add an edge, along with the tribal mode.  Love them with a print.

About Bajalia – Bajalia invests in women around the world, often in places where women have no voice, or opportunities for education or advancement.  Founder and CEO, Debbie Farah comes from the fashion industry with a designer’s eye, and knows the trends.   Bajalia’s motto is, “Changing the world while shopping the world.”  Let’s support!

*How to Wear Off the Shoulder – A huge trend this summer, but what do you do with the “girls?”  I still wear a bra, with simple satin or wide cotton straps.  This works best when it doesn’t look like lingerie or too bra-like, because the straps should look more like they are the tank top, to your off the shoulder.  Match the strap color to the top–so white and black are ideal.  It can also work with a print or plaid, if the straps match the background color.
