NYFW: Street Style at the Plaza

Mixing “Street” and The Plaza sounds like an oxymoron.

Although I fancy, gettin’ fancy for occasions, I love too the newish freedom and democratization of environments, events and fashion.  So does Christian Siriano. The youngest winner of Project Runway, Siriano has gained a reputation as a designer for all women–all sizes, all income levels. Mixing high/low like no other couturier, Siriano’s Fall 2017 show featured footwear from his affordable shoe line, topped by shimmery gowns that we might see on award show red carpets.

Fashion show guests showed up at the Plaza Hotel wearing everyday denim with a fashion edge, to style that was well-orchestrated and dressy. The Plaza Hotel is always a gracious host to all; everyday the curious pop in from all over the world, taking in the grandeur and tradition of this renowned landmark.

The Plaza Hotel isn’t such an outlier from the masses, or gritty style after all.
