I have been mildly obsessed with the Sézane Brand ever since meeting Founder Morgane Sezalory, in Marrakech.
There is a cool, yet classic, sexy, feminine, French, the-world-is-in-front-of-us mood that is so enticing, yet so young. It’s fun to play in, and the clothes can work for everyone, but you have to use judgement to edit it so you don’t look like America’s Baby Jane.
Every time I go to Sézane, I see this sexy hairstyle that’s ageless, romantic and old school. I wanted to try this subtle sexiness. It was really easy to do, and I felt a little flirty, yet modern wearing it.
The trick is in getting a little height, keeping the right amount of hair out of the ponytail, and curling that part and the ponytail a bit. I have fine hair, and not a lot of it. I think it still works because the actual ponytail is the least important part.
All I did was gather up my hair with an elastic for the low(ish) ponytail, and then pull up a little bit on the crown while holding the elastic. With a curling iron I lightly spiraled the piecey sides and the ponytail. I curled pieces of the ponytail part outward and haphazardly to keep it fun and fake a little more volume.
I think a scarf tied around the elastic would look great, and help hide my small ponytail. There’s also something else I sometimes do to give my ponytail more oomph. Stay tuned for more on that, in next Tuesday’s post.
